ANC BOKONE BOPHIRIMA DISMISSES THE DA'S GRANDSTANDING BY USING UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS

The African National Congress (ANC) in Bokone Bophirima is disappointed at media reports that blow out of proportion a discussion of the Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government's Executive Council (Exco) to evaluate the Mahikeng Airport business method and its benefits to the province.

As the ANC, we are satisfied with the provincial government's explanation that the Exco merely requested that a cost benefit analysis be done so that an informed decision can be made in the best interests of the people. That does not equal to a decision to purchase an aircraft.

We are however not surprised by the DA's overzealous decision to jump onto the bandwagon to use these unfounded allegations because as a party that has never governed anything in Bokone Bophirima, they've got no clue what it means to be in charge of governance and having to take decisions that benefit the people. We also understand that the DA would have nothing to do as a party if they did not oppose everything that the ANC government does or discusses.

It is telling that the DA can use unsupported claims from unnamed sources to back their so-called cabinet report card. If leaders of government cannot have a decent discussion such as weighing options for the province because they fear opposition parties, then they would get no job done.

We know Cde Supra Mahumapelo well and he is not the kind of a leader who could prioritise himself over the interests of the people. He has proven over and over again that he's the best leader for this current administration. We call on members of the ANC and the people of Bokone Bophirima at large to continue supporting the provincial government as it looks at ways to persist with bettering all our lives.
