ANC BOKONE BOPHIRIMA CONDEMNS THE DA'S MALICIOUS ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT THE YES PROGRAMME

The African National Congress (ANC) in Bokone Bophirima condemns the Democratic Alliance's (DA) malicious attempt to discredit the provincial government's Youth Entrepreneurship Services (Yes) programme, as reported in the Sunday Independent this past weekend.

YES was initiated to develop and empower the young people of Bokone Bophirima so they may also play an active role in the economy. We as the ANC are extremely proud of the work the YES has done so far and we encourage the provincial government to continue with YES because we see first hand how it's benefitting the youth of the province.

It is disappointing that the DA, which claims to provide equal opportunities for all, is the one that looks down upon the development of a young person from previously disadvantaged background and wants to dishonor one of the groundbreaking youth empowerment programmes the provincial government has ever come with. What makes it even more concerning is that the DA is using inaccurate information instead of using the appropriate channels in the provincial legislature to get correct answers.

We see this as personalized attacks directed at the Premier of Bokone Bophirima, who is also ANC Provincial Cde Chairperson Supra Mahumapelo. The least the DA can do is work with the provincial government for the betterment of our people's lives instead of trying to find a scandal where there's none by using falsehood.

The ANC in Bokone Bophirima is firmly behind the provincial government and its efforts to empower our young people and develop their skills.
