ANC BOKONE BOPHIRIMA CONGRATULATES PREMIER SUPRA MAHUMAPELO ON HIS STATE OF THE PROVINCE ADDRESS
26/02/2016
Dakota Legoete

The ANC in Bokone Bophirima welcomes Premier Supra Mahumapelo's State of the Province Address (Sopa) delivered in Matlosana this morning, Friday 26 February 2016.

With the service delivery update that the Premier provided as part of his Sopa, the ANC can confidently declare that Bokone Bophirima in 2016 is a better place to live than ever before. It is our view also that the future of this province looks brighter.

We would like to congratulate Premier Mahumapelo for putting our people first, carrying and implementing a clear mandate of the ANC of Advancing People's Power in the year 2016.

We are extremely pleased that the Premier is taking seriously the issue of youth development and is establishing the Youth Enterpreneurship Support (YES) programme in his Office of the Premier. We encourage young people of Bokone Bophirima to grab this opportunity and benefit from it because as the Premier mentioned in his speech only 11.1% of young people have necessary skills required to secure employment.

The measures that Premier Mahumapelo announced to cut costs, such as reducing the provincial government's salary bill of R19.9-Billion, doing away with rentals building the government's own office complex and training the government's own security shows that Bokone Bophirima is willing to contribute to assisting the country with its economic challenges.

The "Bietjie Bietjie maak meer economic approach" will empower our people more because everyone who is willing to run a business will get to participate in the economy of our province. For that we congratulate Premier Mahumapelo for his foresight.

The ANC in Bokone Bophirima has got confidence in Premier Mahumapelo and his Provincial Executive is looking forward to the implementation of more programmes that he mentioned in his Sopa today.
